Guess who loves to shop at Divisoria ?

Me, of course and who else?

And perhaps you!

Well…if you want to shop in Divisoria for your Christmas shopping needs, now is the time before the streets get too crowded with Christmas shoppers. This is Juan Luna St. where I always pass on my way to my favorite shopping place, the 168 Mall. My husband normally just drops me by the Binondo side of Juan Luna and I just walk till I reach Sta. Elena st. Parking can be quite difficult if one is not early enough.

Tabora or Ilaya streets are my other stops if I want to buy ribbons, Christmas wrappers or materials for Christmas decorations. This is always my first stop before proceeding to 168 Mall. For food or baking ingredients, the New Divisoria Mall and Sto. Cristo streets is another stop-over. See I just shop every two years for some supplies so I just replenish them when I am out of stock.

When all the kitchen and craft needs are bought, I can now concentrate on 168 mall. I notice there is a multi-level parking beside 168 mall now. The mall has expanded more than twice it used to be when I first shopped there in 2005-2006 (I can’t remember now). This is where I buy some of my Christmas shopping gifts and wholesale clothes.

Not all of you are familiar with Divisoria so I took the liberty of placing a map here as a guide to your shopping needs.

Though Divisoria may look disorganized, each street has its own specialization of goods. Taralets.com gives a very comprehensive list of places to shop:

Juan Luna: Juan Luna Shopping Plaza (between Sta. Elena and Binondo Church) – wholesale clothes, bags, handkerchiefs, bandanas, raincoats, socks, towels, office supplies, novelty items, slippers

Cartoon Network is launching an cool new cartoon series on October! Ben 10 Ultimate Alien follows the exploits of 16-year-old Ben Tennyson as he deals with superstardom after his secret identity is revealed, while fighting all-new villains. With the Omnitrix destroyed, Ben must now learn to master the secrets of the mysterious
Ultimatrix, a new watch-like device that not only allows him to transform into a variety of alien super heroes, but also gives him the ability to activate evolved or “ultimate” versions of some of his most powerful alien entities. And Ben’s going to need all the power he can get to take on the brand new villain and his most formidable adversary yet, Aggregor!

This exciting show will debut on Cartoon Network at 10-10-10 (October 10, 2010, Sunday, at 10 am). To make the series’ debut truly unforgettable, Cartoon Network is going all out with Ben 10 TV marathons, new online games and contests, premiere party kits, an incredible new product range from toy maker Bandai – complete with limited edition aliens, a dedicated Facebook page and website, as well as an exclusive ‘Win the Ultimate Ultimatrix’ contest.

Jollitown Kicks Off Season 3

When I was a kid, I watched Batibot religiously. It’s sad that the show got canceled, and I’m not sure if there are good Tagalog kids shows that replaced it. In any case, it turns out that Jollibee has its own TV show, and that just started its third season! Called Jollitown, this multi-awarded hit show stars the loveable Jollibee mascots – Jollibee, Hetty, Yum, Twirlie, and Popo.

The third season was launched at a fun Kiddie Red Carpet Premiere on August 14 at Teatrino, Greenhills. Kids were treated to a dizzying array of colorful cotton candy, lollipops, and popcorn, as well as glitter tattoos and glow-in-the-dark bracelets. The highlight of the day was the exclusive screening of Jollitown Season 3’s pilot episode. Entitled Tunay na Yaman, the episode showed the Jollifriends as they took on another wonderful adventure and encountered a new villain, the wealthy businessman Mr. Q. Rakot.

Catch the rest of Jollibee’s adventures with the gang every Sunday morning, from 8:30 am to 9:00 am on GMA.

DC Comics Celebrates its 75th Anniversary

Who hasn’t heard of Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman? These characters were first introduced by DC Comics 75 years ago and until today, they are still one of the most recognizable pop culture icons of all time. This 2010, DC Comics is commemorating 75 years of world-renowned superheroes, villains, and other characters through several fun-filled activities!

DC Comics invites kids of all ages to join the DC Comics 75th Year Power Up! Super Heroes Challenge on June 19 and 20 at the SM Megamall Events Center. The Super Heroes Challenge is actually an activity camp filled with extreme outdoor activities, set up to fit a large indoor space by the expertise of Kampo Trexo outdoor events and edu-adventures and Event King.. Kids and parents alike can act like superheroes through activities like the Tyrolean Traverse, Two-Line Tight Rope, and the Zip Line. The activity camp also features a DC Comics Mini Museum where limited collection toys from, DC Comics, Toy Kingdom, collectors and fans will be on display. Toy collectors and comic book fans can expect to ogle at an array of Batman, Superman, and Justice League toys and figurines.

There are several ways you can part of the DC Comics 75th Power Up! Super Heroes Challenge. You get a free DC Comics 75th Year bag tag when you buy PhP500 worth of DC Comics products from the SM Department Store Character Shop and Boys Teens Wear departments. Use this as your event pass on June 19 and 20, to register at the DC Comics 75th Year Power Up! Super Heroes Challenge in the SM Megamall Building A Events Center. One bag tag entitles one participant to go through the course once.

You may also present any Batman or Superman personal care product by Master Kids at the registration booth to claim one bag tag to use as an entry pass to the DC Comics 75th Year Power Up! Super Heroes Challenge.

DC Comic’s 75th anniversary will also be the main theme of the 2010 Toy Convention, which is also held on the weekend of June 19 and 20 at the SM Mega Trade Halls 2 and 3. This year’s Toy Con will be featuring themed-competitions and activities. Collectors Unlimited will attempt to gather the most number of people in superhero costumes in one location, so do come as a superhero or comic book character! DC Comics will also invite Filipino comics artists who have rendered work for DC Comics; they’ll be around to autograph your DC Comics collectibles in the Toy Convention and Toy Kingdom, SM Megamall. There will also be a special auction of limited edition DC Comics Encyclopedias to participants who purchase DC Comics licensed products from the DC Comics booth in the Toy Convention.

Father’s Day weekend is sure going to be activity-packed for comic book lovers!

When I was a kid, I used to feel sorry for grown-ups because they were too old to play with toys. When I was a kid, I thought the worst part of growing up was that I’d be too old to play with toys. I did get older and I realized that age is just a number, and that adults can still very well buy toys if they please – especially since we now earn our own money! So if you’re a kid or a kid-at-heart with a fondness for toys and collectibles, you might want to head to the Power Plant Mall’s Focus on Toys on June 26-28.

Focus on Toys is the first leg of Rockwell’s Focus on Collections series, and this weekend you can expect the mall to be invaded by robots, admire vintage toys and Lego, and awe at the marvel of the Transformers 2 display. On June 27 there will be a cosplay competition where amazing prizes await winners, and on June 28 the 501st Stormtrooper battalion will be marching across the mall.
