Sands SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

If you’re traveling to Singapore anytime soon, don’t leave the country without dropping by the new Sands SkyPark at the Marina Bay Sands hotel, Singapore’s newest luxury resort hotel. The SkyPark was formally launched just last month and floats on top of the three Marina Bay Sands hotel towers, 200 meters in the sky.

Designed by architect Moshe Safdie, the SkyPark is shaped like a boat and has 12,400 square meters of space. That’s longer than the Eiffel Tower laid down on four and a half A380 Jumbo Jets!

Just to illustrate how large the Sands SkyPark is, here is a view of my hotel, the Mandarin Oriental, from the observation deck.

And here is a view of Sands SkyPark from my hotel room! I didn’t need to use a zoom to take this photo – the structure really is that visible.

The SkyPark’s gravity-defying cantilever can hold up to 3,900 people on its observation deck, allowing hotel guests and visitors a stunning panoramic view of the city.

Besides the breathtaking view of Singapore, the Sands SkyPark also has idyllic landscaped gardens that house 650 types of plants and 250 types of trees. A sparkling infinity pool lines the span of the three towers, allowing guests to admire the cityscape while they soak in the pool’s cool waters.

Tickets to the Observation Deck must be purchased at the Box Office in the Hotel Lobby, Tower 3. For more information visit the Sands SkyPark website.
